Email sending and provider connection terms

Published 13 September 2026, updated 25 September 2026. Connection terms version: 2026-09-13-business-resend.

The shared-service section explains existing operational limits. The optional provider-connection terms apply when an authorised business owner accepts them while connecting its own Resend account. This does not replace or backdate your previously accepted general terms.

This is the English source text. General Terms of Service and the Data Processing Agreement continue to apply.

Permission to contact recipients. You are responsible for the source, accuracy and permitted use of your customer lists, including imported lists. You must obtain and retain the permission required by applicable law and your selected email provider’s terms before instructing a send. Importing a contact, confirming that its address appears deliverable or paying for a subscription does not itself establish permission to email that person. You must honour unsubscribe requests and must not use the Services for unsolicited, purchased-list or scraped-list outreach prohibited by your email provider or these Terms.

Perkstar-provided invitation sending. When invitations or invitation reminders use Perkstar’s sending account, the following operational limits apply:

ControlCurrent limit or behaviour
Invitation allowanceUp to 10,000 initial invitations and follow-up invitation emails per business in a rolling 30-day window, subject to the other safeguards below. This is not an allowance for every email feature or a guarantee that a list of that size will be sent.
New-account limitsFor an account less than seven days old without an active paid subscription, up to 100 invitation recipients per campaign and 250 invitation sends or reserved places over 24 hours, subject to the account otherwise being eligible to send. These limits do not grant sending access to an account that is locked or otherwise ineligible.
Queued invitationsEach queued invitation reserves a place immediately. Confirmed provider-accepted sends count in the applicable rolling window. Outstanding reservations continue to count while the email can still be sent, including when a queue is delayed.
Cancellation and uncertain deliveryA reservation can be released when Perkstar establishes that the email was not sent and cannot still be sent by that run. If the provider’s response is uncertain, the reservation remains until the delivery is reconciled. Cancellation does not recall an email already accepted by the provider.
Address checksPerkstar checks address quality before shared-service invitation sending. Addresses classified as undeliverable, risky or unknown, or blocked by applicable suppression rules, are not sent through that service. Missing or expired verification evidence can also hold sending.
Delivery-quality warningA warning is triggered at a bounce rate of 1% or a spam-complaint rate of 0.02%.
Delivery-quality pauseShared-service invitations are paused at a bounce rate of 2% or a spam-complaint rate of 0.04%.
Measurement windowsDelivery quality is assessed over both rolling 24-hour and rolling 30-day send cohorts. Bounce rate uses provider-accepted emails as its denominator. Complaint rate uses confirmed-delivered emails, including complaint evidence that establishes receipt. Reported delivery and bounce events can overlap if a receiving system later rejects a previously accepted message.

Safety review and timing. A send may be held below these numerical ceilings because of an existing account restriction, source or content concern, missing verification, provider failure or a reviewed recovery condition. Large sends may be processed gradually. A displayed next-check time is not a guaranteed delivery time. Where Perkstar specifically approves a monitored recovery run, it can use up to 100 emails per wave with at least 15 minutes between waves, require delivery evidence before continuing, and stop on a new bounce or complaint. This recovery arrangement is not an automatic entitlement or the default schedule for every campaign. Perkstar will explain a material restriction and the steps needed for review as described in clause 8.

What reports mean. An address held or excluded before sending has not bounced merely because a check considered it risky or undeliverable. “Provider accepted” means the sending provider accepted the request; it does not mean the recipient read the email or that it reached the inbox. “Delivered” reflects a provider delivery event, not proof that the recipient read the message. A successful address check cannot guarantee delivery or prevent every subsequent bounce.

Separate entitlements. Subscription features and any separately displayed credit or usage allowances continue to apply. The invitation safety ceiling above does not create a separate plan entitlement, replace published subscription pricing, or entitle the Operator to send other categories of email without limit. No new invitation fee or plan-specific invitation allowance is introduced by this explanation.

Perkstar-provided newsletter sending. Newsletters (email campaigns) on the Growth and Scale plans are sent through a separate Perkstar sending account used only for newsletters, with the business's name as the sender. The following operational rules apply:

ControlCurrent limit or behaviour
Who can receive a newsletterOnly customers who opted in to the business's marketing email themselves, on its sign-up form or their own preferences page, and have not opted out since. Imported contacts, consent recorded by staff or set through an integration, and customers of other businesses are not included. A business trading under more than one name sends as one of them, to customers whose opt-in named it.
UnsubscribesEvery newsletter includes an unsubscribe link and one-click unsubscribe headers. An unsubscribe takes effect for newsletters not yet sent, including those already queued.
Address checksPerkstar checks each address before its first newsletter and may reuse a recent result. Addresses classified as undeliverable are not sent to; risky and unknown addresses are sent. If checks are unavailable, sending waits and resumes automatically.
Suppressed addressesAddresses that hard-bounce, are marked as spam or are suppressed by the email provider receive no further newsletters from any business using Perkstar's newsletter account.
Delivery-quality pauseA campaign pauses when at least 5 emails have bounced and bounces reach 2% of provider-accepted emails, or when at least 2 spam complaints reach 0.04%. The business's newsletters then stay paused until Perkstar reviews them.
Postal addressNewsletters show the business's postal address from its locations. Businesses in the United States and Canada cannot send until one is added.
Monthly emailsGrowth and Scale include 10,000 emails a month per business, shared by newsletters and its other marketing emails, and not multiplied by locations. Each email to one recipient counts once: a campaign to 2,500 customers uses 2,500. Unused emails do not roll over. The allowance resets on the 1st of each month, including on annual plans. Account, security, billing and card-confirmation emails do not count. A campaign that needs more emails than remain cannot start. One that runs out while sending pauses until the allowance resets. Perkstar never charges for extra emails automatically.

Newsletters always use Perkstar's newsletter account, including for a business that has connected its own email provider for other emails.

Optional business-owned email provider

Where Perkstar makes an own-provider connection available and you choose to enable it, you contract directly with the email provider and authorise Perkstar to submit the supported customer emails through your connected account. You are responsible for that account, your verified sending domain, its credentials, provider charges and quotas, list quality, and compliance with the provider’s policies. The setup screen identifies which email types use the connection; Perkstar’s own account, security and billing communications remain separate.

For emails routed through your connected Resend account, Perkstar does not use its Emailable address-verification service, exclude addresses based on Perkstar’s address-quality verdicts or bounce history, or impose the shared-service bounce-rate pauses described in the shared-service section above. No Perkstar Emailable credits are used for that sending path. Resend may independently suppress recipients, reject a send, apply its own quotas, or restrict your account under its terms. Connecting your own account is not a means of overriding a restriction imposed by Resend.

Perkstar continues to honour recorded unsubscribe and consent choices, prevent duplicate delivery retries, protect account access and enforce its general acceptable-use and security requirements. A connected email provider does not override a closed or suspended Perkstar account, an unrelated abuse restriction, or required access permissions.

If the connected account is unavailable or rejects a send, Perkstar will not silently send that email through Perkstar’s shared account instead. Disconnecting or changing accounts does not recall accepted emails or automatically resend messages whose outcome is uncertain. Delivery reports distinguish provider acceptance, confirmed delivery, rejection and bounce where that evidence is available.

Your use of an independently connected provider does not remove Perkstar’s obligations for its own processing, security or performance under these Terms and the DPA. We do not guarantee that an email will be accepted, delivered, placed in an inbox, read, or free of bounces under either sending option.

Data processing for your own email connection

An email provider that the Operator independently connects under its own account is also an operator-selected provider. On the Operator’s instruction, Perkstar sends the recipient address, sender and reply details, message content and necessary delivery identifiers to that provider and processes its delivery-status responses. The Operator is responsible for its separate provider contract, relevant customer notices and any required data-processing or international-transfer arrangements. This is separate from Resend engaged by Perkstar to deliver mail through Perkstar’s own sending account. Perkstar’s obligations for the processing it performs remain governed by this DPA.
